Super Grace: A Response
So yesterday, a video that my friends and I made for fun went viral. It was extremely unexpected, and I’m not really sure why people even thought it was worth their time. But it seemed to at least cause somewhat of an uproar. People are calling it “pro-abstinence”,”a Christian anthem”, using it to bring up debates on homosexuality, etc. I mean, I guess it’s cool to get people talking...

Written and Performed by Raychel Manko. (Me!)
This one is for the boys with the true religion. In love with the Lord and done with sinnin’. When he come up in the church he be praisin’ up. Always tithes but he’s still savin’ up. And he still. He real. He knows God’s will. He don’t pop bottles, but still knows how to thrill. He’s bold, has hope, and loves...

Poem about Pascal's Coffeehouse
This is a poem I wrote about one of my favorite places, Pascal’s in the Christian Study Center of Gainesville. They had a poetry contest about a month ago and I submitted this. I didn’t win, but it’s still completely how I feel so I just thought I’d share it and show my love for the CSC! I encourage everyone to check out the Christian Study Center and Pascal’s...

#soblessed
These are ways that God has blessed me TODAY:
1. Even though I woke up later than my alarm was supposed to wake me up, I still woke up in time to barely finish my homework due at 8 a.m.
2. I got to eat lunch at Arredondo. Always a blessing.
3. Katy Doran was working at Arredondo today, which made me happy.
4. Today was slow at work, so I got sent home from work two hours early.
5. On my way...

Introspective Evening.
A lot of times I hear things. They make sense. I process them in the moment. And then I walk away.
That’s not to say that I didn’t learn them or that I won’t apply them later on. I just rarely take the time to reflect.
And I don’t want to do that tonight. I want to do something different. Maybe I’ll start a new habit, or maybe this is the only time that I’ll...
Longing to Go to Uganda..
I started reading Romans this morning, and I was blown away because I felt like Paul. His feelings toward Rome are the feelings I’m experiencing toward Uganda and the ministries I’ll be working with there. I’ve never really related to Paul like this, but for the first time ever I really understand what he was going through. Just more confirmation that this is what God is calling...

Ephesians 1: In My Own Words
As preparation for teaching the Summer CRU - South Florida Bible study on Ephesians tonight, I decided to put Ephesians 1 into my own words to help me understand it better. So I just thought I’d post my translation and share it with anyone who cares to read it.
Also, I urge you to read Ephesians. These are just my words. Those are God’s.
It was part of God’s plan for Paul’s life...
All I have is Yours, Oh Lord.
All I have is what You give me. What You give me is more than I need. So open my hands to give back freely, the same way You’ve given to me. Help me to see that all I have is Yours, Oh Lord. - Tenth Avenue North
I’ve been listening to that song over and over tonight because today has been absolutely incredible - so incredible that I had to blog about it.
The constant struggle of this...
I'm not so Van Gogh.
How do artsy people get so, well, artsy?
What I mean is, have you ever just stumbled upon a friend or even a friend of a friends Facebook because, let’s be real, you just felt like lurking a stranger, and wondered how they have fantastically photographed, creative pictures? Or how they just look so dang musically talented? Or how they just look so cute in their indie chic clothes?

And 5 months in...
It’s May now. And I haven’t blogged since the beginning of the year.
And I haven’t kept all my goals for 2001. Of course.
Actually, I don’t think I’ve kept any of them completely. And with most of them, I haven’t even come close.
But you know what, that’s OK.
It’s good to set goals for yourself and have standards. And all of those standards that...

2011
Well, many months have gone by since I decided to make this blog and then never post in it.
It’s the last day of 2010, and so I obviously wrote some resolutions and goals for 2011. They’re basically guidelines for how I’d like to live my life next year. I wrote them in my journal, but I wanted to put them online so I could reference them when I need to be reminded of them. So...

I Am What The Title Says I Am
I can usually spit out an awesome alliteration in a few seconds. Look, I just did one.
But for some reason when the alliteration is about me or when I really want it to count, I just can’t think of what I want to say.
Hence the name of my blog: A Work In Progress.
Originally I was trying to brainstorm the perfect blog title to target a specific demographic, but it wasn’t working for...
